Prior to Spur, Joan, from 1994 through 2001, was Chief Operating Officer at Knightsbridge Advisers where she served on the investment committee along with the other Spur co-founders. Before transitioning into the fund-of-funds industry, Joan served as Group Controller for a subsidiary of Hartmann & Braun, before which she worked for a group of venture capital-backed medical device companies. Earlier in her career, Joan’s experience included time as a Certified Public Accountant with McGladrey LLP, now known as RSM.

Joan holds a BS and MA in Accounting (Taxation) from Florida Atlantic University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Joan resides in Bartlesville, Oklahoma where she serves as a volunteer and Board Member at the Hopestone Cancer Support Center as well as Paths to Independence, a nonprofit private school for
students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. She enjoys fitness and tennis and, because her many years at Spur have taught her patience, she is an aspiring golfer.
